Worldwide GFS activities provide girls with an opportunity to relate to girls around the world and to fulfill our motto: “Bear ye One Another’s Burdens”.

GFS World Day of Prayer

The GFS World Day of Prayer is celebrated around the world on September 29, or on a nearby date.  GFS-USA requires that all branches celebrate the World Day of Prayer. Each year, a new service is written by a member country and shared with all countries.

Donations collected for the World Project should be forwarded to the GFS-USA Treasurer.

For more information on hymn tunes, please contact the Director of Service and Program.

GFS World Project

The GFS World Project for 2017-2020 is in Sri Lanka. The project is an English fluency program for Anglican girls in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has a 92.6% literacy rate, but only a 46.6% rate of English fluency. This puts Sri Lanka at a disadvantage compared to other Asian countries and restricts the abilities of young Sri Lankan women to secure jobs for which they are otherwise qualified. By improving their English fluency through the GFS World Project program, girls will be able to apply for better jobs and improve their self-confidence, earning power, and social status.
