Background info on Carol Bushman

My memories of GFS as a child, teen, and adult are memorable. I have been a member since I was 9, and now I am in my 60’s. GFS expanded my horizons by traveling to other chapters in the state, visiting the National Office, which was in New York at the time, attending Broadway shows, and weekend camp at Camp Bement.

Besides traveling, we practiced etiquette, put on fashion shows, went Trick or Treating for UNICEF, worked on World Projects, participated in community work, sponsored neighborhood dances, and ended the year with a grand cookout.

My adult children started in GFS when they were very young. The four GFS pillars of Study, Prayer, Service, and Recreation have guided our lives in GFS, church, community work and life. As a former Diocesan President, Sponsor, and now a National Board Member, thankfully, the Lord has truly strengthened my life through The Girls’ Friendly Society.
